Our chapter began over 10 years ago as a parent support group in the New Prague area. That group's purpose was to support friends and families of those in the LGBTQ family. In 2014 we became an official chapter of the national PFLAG organization. In 2025, we expanded to serve folks in the broader area of southern Minnesota and the Twin Cities and became PFLAG Greater Twin Cities South with a board based out of Eden Prairie. Throughout the years and our changes, our purpose remains the same: we envision a world where diversity is celebrated and all people are respected, valued, and affirmed regardless of their sexual orientation, gender identity, and gender expression.
What We Do
Provide Support – We hold monthly in-person and online support groups in New Prague and Eden Prairie. We also provide programs for special topics and events.
Offer Education – As we get in touch with the needs of our broader community, we’ll be adding periodic educational opportunities such as speakers, discussions, book clubs, etc. on various general and specific topics.
Advocate – PFLAG strives to partner with other local and national organizations to educate key decision-makers about the issues that affect our loved ones and families, and to teach others how to use their voices to amplify our efforts toward a more equitable, and just world for the LGBTQ+ community.
